A Level 1 or 2 qualification in Health & Social Care or Child Care is designed to enable you to enter employment at a trainee or apprenticeship level or to progress onto a level 3 qualification. The Level 3 qualification allows you to progress into employment, continue training and apprenticeships in the workplace, or move on to university for training in nursing, social work, education and other related professions. Previous students have gained places on degree courses such as BA (Hons) Community Work, BSc (Hons) in Adult Nursing or Social Work as well as BA (Hons) Early Years Education at a range of institutions including Bournemouth University and Southampton University.
Additionally, students can apply to study the FdSc (Foundation Degree) in Health and Social Care at Weymouth College (validated through the University of Plymouth), undertaking work experience alongside their degree.
Why study with us?
Our courses provide an opportunity for you to gain valuable work experience alongside your studies, so you learn on the job and not just in the classroom. Our team of highly qualified staff use their professional experience to keep courses up to date with the latest developments in the sector. They will teach you important links between theory and practice, which will ensure that you are fully prepared to meet the challenges of this rewarding career. A DBS check will be carried out as part of the course in order to work with vulnerable people.
