In Short

Skills Bootcamps are flexible training courses for adults aged 19 and over and are part of the Government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee and Plan for Jobs.

They have been developed in partnership with employers, colleges and local authorities to create flexible and bespoke training courses that last up to 16 weeks.

Benefits for Your Business

These flexible courses offer you as the employers an opportunity to upskill your current workforce, improve productivity, increase retention and allow internal progression.

Our Skills Bootcamps focus on the important links between adult skills and jobs, keeping employers are the forefront of the Further Education system and allowing you the opportunity to tailor the curriculum content to suit your organisation’s need.

Costs

To train an existing member of staff through a Bootcamp, you will be required to make a training course contribution, with the Government providing the remaining proportion of funding.

If you are a small to medium employer with less than 250 employees, you will be required to pay 10% of the costs, which will be no more than £320 per person.

If you are larger employers with more than 250 employees, you will be required to pay 30% of the costs, which will be no more than £960 per person.

Your Responsibilities

In order to successfully access this funding, you will need to provide all employees with the opportunity to progress as a result of their training. This will need to be evidenced through a revised job description or change of job role.
