You will study the principles of fabrication andwelding technology and acquire and developpractical skills in different types of welding techniques and processes within our specialist and fully equipped welding workshop.

Designed for those with previous experience this course will provide students with a nationally recognised qualification and the skills to progress within the welding and fabrication industry.

Entry Requirements

Selection for all courses is by interview

Successful completion of the Level 1 Welding & Fabrication course to a suitable level and relevant Functional Skills.

Course Content

Units include:

  • Engineering and Environmental Health and Safety (9 credits)
  • Engineering Organisational Efficiency and Improvement (9 credits)
  • Manual Metal-ARC (MMA) Welding (10 credits)

How will I be assessed?

These course will be assessed using on-line exams, practical and theory assessments.

Fees

If you are aged 16-18 as of 31 August on the year of enrolment no course fee.

If you are over 19 as of 31 August and enrolling on a full-time programme of study a tuition fee will be applicable in most cases. Bursary funds There are financial support arrangements for 16-18 year olds and hardship funds available for the over 19s.
