To provide a good understanding of Motor Vehicle Systems, using theory and practical sessions.
Entry Requirements
A good understanding of the Motor Vehicle and successful completion of the I.M.I. Motor Vehicle Servicing & Repair Level 2 or City & Guilds 383 Part 2 Repair and Servicing of Road Vehicles or City & Guilds 6956 Progression Award in Motor Vehicle Servicing & Repair (Light Vehicles) Level 2 or a relevant Level 2 Motor Vehicle course. You will need to have an interview with the course tutor before you can enrol for this course.
Course Content
Students will work within the institute of the motor industry standards studying the following Level 3 units:
- Diagnose and Rectify Engine System Faults
- Diagnose and Rectify Chassis System Faults
- Diagnose and Rectify Transmission System Faults
- Diagnose and Rectify Electrical System Faults
- Vehicle Inspections
How will I be assessed?
City and Guilds on Line assessment and practical tasks.
Progression
On successful completion of the City & Guilds course, you can progress onto a higher level course.
Tools/Materials/Books
Students may be required to purchase a text book / work book, to be discussed at interview.
