Price: £45 per person

Delivered through the Dorset Training Academy, this short half day course provides learners with guidance on catastrophic bleeding control, including dealing with the inherent dangers associated with the use of tourniquets and haemostatic dressings whilst administering First Aid in a high-risk working environment. All learners must hold an in date Level 3 Emergency First Aid or Level 3 First Aid at Work qualification.

This course is suited towards outdoor and remote activities, as well as workers within identified high risk industries such as agriculture, engineering, construction etc.

The short course will include the following:

• Changes to UK Guidelines
• Equipment
• Primary survey
• Catastrophic bleeding
• Haemostatic dressings
• Tourniquets
• Top-to-toe survey
• Environmental issues
• Handover to the emergency services

The one-day course is a minimum of 3.5 contact hours, and will be delivered at the Cranford Avenue College site, with free parking available and refreshments provided. Training can be delivered on site to meet business needs, please contact us to discuss a pre-course assessment of your premises.

A maximum of 12 students are allowed on all training sessions and there is no exam at the end of the course. Successful completion of course is based on continual assessment throughout the duration of the course and electronic certificates which are valid for 3 years will be distributed within 10 working days of the end of the course.
