Weymouth College is once again proud to be celebrating another year of outstanding student achievement with 100% pass rate for the A Level class of 2024.
A Level course results were published across the country today and the College’s A Level students have achieved an outstanding overall pass rate of 100% in all 15 subjects – with 68% achieving A*- C.
Students in English Literature, Film Studies, Media Studies, and Law achieved 100% A*- C – well done.
This year’s outstanding results demonstrate and recognise that the College continues to maintain an excellent level of performance alongside a strong national pass rate.
Following the successful achievement of their A Level qualifications, our students are now excitedly looking forward to their next steps with the majority progressing onto Higher Education, with Weymouth College students continuing their studies at a wide range of universities nationally.
Head of Academic Studies, James Foster, said: “We are proud to announce the exceptional achievements of our A Level students. The students have demonstrated a remarkable level of academic excellence and personal growth, setting a strong foundation for their future endeavours.”

Many of our students have surpassed expectations, with a significant number securing places at top universities or transitioning into promising career opportunities or apprenticeships.”
Of this year’s Weymouth College A Level cohort, 100% of students who applied to university received offers from their chosen universities.
This year Weymouth College students are continuing their studies at a wide range of universities nationally including University of Exeter, Bath Spa, UCL – London, UWE Bristol, University of Winchester and University of Plymouth.
Student Xander Lavis commented: “I am hoping to take up my place at London Metropolitan University to study my undergraduate degree in Film and TV production. The College has helped support my independence as a learner and helped facilitate my learning to achieve my future goals as a film maker.”
Jessica Makin added: “The College has supported me in moving back into mainstream education and progressing in my academic studies. I hope to work for the civil service in the future.”
Nestor Montagu said: “The College has created a good friendly learning environment which has helped me to put effort into my subjects. I am delighted to achieve my four A grades in Biology, Geography, Psychology and Physics.”
Oli Gough commented: “The College has given me a seamless transition back into formal education from home education. It has been a fun and efficient learning environment, which is helping me on my path towards my dream career in Psychology.”

Outstanding achievement in professional and technical courses
The College’s A Level students were joined in celebration by many of the students who completed vocational and technical courses at Weymouth College in 2024.
The student results across the wide-range of vocational courses taken were outstanding with over 40 students achieving Distinctions/DDD – D*D*D* (equivalent to AAA – A*A*A* at A level) and students progressing on to employment, apprenticeships and higher education.

Many of our high achieving students have chosen to make a degree level course at Weymouth College or an apprenticeship their next step, whilst others have chosen to move a little further afield to continue their higher education journey.
These fantastic results confirm that the College continues to provide successful paths into Higher Education.
