Weymouth College and Assembly Systems Weymouth Ltd (ASM) – a strong partnership

During the academic year 2017/2018 Engineering at Weymouth College received tremendous support from ASM, Assembly Systems Weymouth Ltd.  After specific requests during National Apprenticeship Week 2018 the College has endeavoured to deliver a Mechatronic provision to our learners.  ASM’s financial assistance has allowed this to happen in supporting the purchase of software and CPD for Engineering staff.

Furthermore, ASM has kindly donated a high quality piece of Engineering equipment, which is used in the production of printed circuit boards.  This is a great addition to our resources within the Engineering department and will further assist in delivering quality up to date technology.  Not only did ASM deliver the equipment and ensure it was calibrated they also delivered training at ASM for two members of the Engineering team.

The continued partnership between ASM and Engineering is one that we hope will develop further as employees fulfil their apprenticeship frameworks and progress onto the HNC programme.
