Adam Vyvyan-Penny winner of the Engineering Project Shield (Level 3) at Weymouth College

The College’s Extended Diploma Level 3 Engineering students were asked to research a design topic which could enhance an existing product or an original concept and deliver a 15 minute  individual  presentation to a selected audience of Senior Management, Lecturing Staff, Peer students and invited guests as part of their Design Project Unit

This fifteen minute presentation – part of their Design Project Unit – formed one part of a three stage process whereby learners self-researched a design topic which could enhance an existing product or an original concept. The research and feedback from the presentation formed the basis of a detailed report.

Adam – who researched an original concept – was judged to be the most outstanding and committed learner and was awarded the inaugural  Level 3 Engineering Project award.

Adam has now successfully gained an Apprenticeship with Bridmet a locally-based manufacturer of metal components and assemblies.
