External Candidates
Weymouth College accepts external candidates for public examinations. This is an exam only service for candidates not enrolled at the College.
The offer is exclusive to written and online exams. It does not include any of the following:
- Coursework/non exam assessment
- Practical exams
- Written exams that include a practical componenet
As well as the above, the service does not include: access to any tuition, college resources or additional learning support. If you have previously received Access Arrangements as part of your examination entitlement this will not be available to you as part of this service.
All quoted fees were correct at 01/09/2022 but may be subject to change.
Administration Fees
GCSEs – £105 per subject
A Level – £65 per unit/component
Online exam – £35 per exam
All other written exam papers (excluding GCSE/A level) are to be charged at £105 per exam.
The Administration fee covers the rooming, invigilation and all administration relating to the qualification including processing and posting results and certificates.
We do not accept late entries to minimise last minute changes to planned timetables and rooming.
Examination Fees
In addition to the Administration fee there will also be an exam board entry fee – which varies per exam board – please contact our Exams team (stating your exam requirements), who will be pleased to discuss costs/availability.
How to Apply
Exam requests can be made by contacting our Exams team by email by emailing exams_admin@weymouth.ac.uk or by phone 01305 764711.
Exam requirements will be discussed with you once a request has been received.
Once your request has been processed the Exams team will contact you with confirmation and details of your exam dates, times and venues. It is your responsibility to ensure availability at the times of exams. These dates are set nationally by the exam boards (with the exception of on-line exams) and cannot be changed by Weymouth College.
All fees are non-refundable once the exam board entry has been processed.
