Numeracy in the Workplace – Early Years/Primary Focus
Fully Funded Multiply Course
This course is designed for support staff of early years and primary age children who would like to boost their confidence with number and maths and learn how to support pupils positively as they prepare for transitions to Key Stage 1 (Year 1) or Key Stage 3 (Year 7).
Course Content
During this course you will learn skills and techniques to use numeracy in a range of real life situations, helping you to refresh your own knowledge and develop additional confidence and skills to support pupils as they develop their numeracy and maths skills.
- Number
- Place value – what do numbers mean?
- Consolidating the 4 operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Patterns and connections
- Shapes
- Numbers
- Sequencing

- Problem Solving

- Measurements and conversions
- Weight, length, volume and capacity
- Linking with numeracy at home (e.g. arts and crafts, money, play and shopping)

If you are aged over 19, live in the Dorset Council area and don’t currently have a GCSE grade C or equivalent, then you will be able to join us and take part in Multiply.
