Rodney Teague - Course Leader, Music and Music Technology
Rodney Teague joined Weymouth College in 2005 and has taught on the Level 2 and Level 3 courses, A-level programme, FdA in Music Design and HND Diploma in Music.
During his professional career, he has performed in theatres, clubs and concert halls across the UK in a variety of popular music and jazz styles. He has also participated in over twenty European club tours and played on numerous recording sessions and radio broadcasts.
Rodney can legitimately claim to have played ‘all over the world’ courtesy of a yearlong world cruise with the Cunard Line in 1998 during which he visited sixty countries! He has performed with many notable musicians including Asaf Sirkis, Bruce Adams, Chris Batchelor, Don Weller, Julian Nicholas, Lila Ammons, Mike Outram, Pete Callard, Ray D’Inverno, Roger Beaujolais and John Law.
Seth Turner-Higgins - Head of Creative Industries
Seth has lectured at Weymouth College for over 10 years. During this time he has continued to develop his main interest in devising theatre, particularly the Theatre of the Absurd and new performance.
Prior to coming to Weymouth, Seth worked as an assistant director for Central Television Drama.
Rebecca Howden - Lecturer in Dance
After studying Performing Arts at Weymouth College, Rebecca progressed to Middlesex University where she completed a BA in Performing Arts, specialising in Dance. She then furthered her training at De Montfort University and graduated with a PGCE in Secondary Dance.
Ki Shaw - Lecturer in Performing Arts
On completing a degree in Dance and English at Middlesex University, Michaela Shaw became Head of Dance and Programme Lecturer for the Performing Arts team at Stanmore College, London.
After 11 years, Michaela decided it was time to move back to the sea and joined the team at Pavilion Dance South West, Bournemouth as Participation and Outreach Manager and freelance dance teacher.
Michaela is currently working as part time Performing Arts Lecturer and part time Producer specialising in Youth Dance and Diversity with Activate Performing Arts in Dorchester.
Martin Swain - Instructor in Music
Martin is one of the Music Technicians and Instructors for the department. He has worked at Weymouth College for over 10 years providing technical assistance and updating the Music Department’s facilities.
Martin had graduated from Southampton Solent University with a BA in Popular Music Production in 2012, and was an intern at The Ranch Production House during his time at university assisting with recording sessions.
Mel Draper - Costume Technician
Since completing a BA in Costume for Stage and Screen at the Arts University in Bournemouth Mel has gone on to work as a freelance costume supervisor, designer and maker on a large variety of productions, including theatre, dance, community projects, musicals and site specific work.
She continues her freelance work locally and further afield alongside working at The Bay Studios.
