One year post-merger, Weymouth and Kingston Maurward College is proud to be celebrating a year of outstanding student achievement across academic, vocational and technical qualifications.

This year’s outstanding results across A-Levels, technical and professional courses demonstrate and recognise that the College – recently graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted – continues to maintain an excellent level of performance alongside a strong national pass rate.

Exceptional success stories in A Levels

Following the successful achievement of their A Level qualifications, our students are now excitedly looking forward to their next steps, with the majority progressing onto Higher Education.

Of this year’s Weymouth and Kingston Maurward College A Level cohort, 100% of students who applied to university received offers from their chosen universities. They will now be continuing their studies at a wide range of universities nationally, including University of Exeter, University of Brighton Bath Spa, UCL – London, UWE Bristol, University of Winchester and University of Plymouth.

Head of Academic Studies, James Foster, said: “The School of Academic Studies at Weymouth and Kingston Maurward College is delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievements of its students in this year’s A Level, AS Level, and BTEC Applied Science examinations.

“Our students have exemplified academic excellence and personal growth, laying a strong foundation for their future endeavours. These impressive results are a testament to their hard work, commitment, and resilience throughout their academic journey.

“Many of our students have exceeded expectations, with a significant number securing places at Russell Group universities, entering competitive apprenticeship programmes, or embarking on promising career pathways.

“We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and look forward to seeing all they will achieve in the years to come.”

Outstanding achievement in professional and technical courses 

The College’s A Level students were joined in celebration by students who completed T Levels and other vocational and technical courses at Weymouth and Kingston Maurward College in 2025.

The student results across the wide-range of vocational courses taken were outstanding with many achieving DDD – D*D*D* and students progressing on to employment, apprenticeships and higher education.

T Levels

Weymouth and Kingston Maurward College had its first cohort of students completing their two-year T Level qualifications in Education and Childcare and Health (Adult Nursing).

T Levels are two-year technical qualifications which are designed to give students hands-on experience through both classroom learning plus an extended industry placement (about 45 days).

Some fantastic results were achieved by our first ever cohort with many students progressing into full time employment following their industry placement.
