Set in the magnificent setting of Poundbury, the Dorset Centre for the Creative Arts offers a unique learning experience for those interested in the creative arts. Taught by industry experts including artists and craft specialists, the centre offers masterclasses and specialist qualifications with an opportunity to develop creative skills and knowledge in a relaxed environment. The Dorset Centre for the Creative Arts enables students to build their confidence through a variety of different masterclasses. From ceramics to counselling, to life drawing and stone carving many people use our masterclasses for professional development. There are no formal entry requirements and they provide scope to develop skills both personally and professionally. Coronavirus (Covid-19) statement - updated 1st June 2020 With regard to the current situation, the College and DCCA are following guidance from Public Health England (PHE) and other national agencies about the re-opening of the centre. We announced that we would be closing the Dorset Centre for the Creative Arts (DCCA), and would be in contact with you in May concerning both future courses and refunds of course fees. After the Prime Ministers briefing on Sunday, we will be taking further steps to keep both staff and our students safe during a time when we all have to consider health and safety from every aspect. Weymouth College and DCCA have therefore made the decision to close the Centre until September 2020. In these really difficult times, a HUGE thank you to all our students and staff for your continued support and patience. We were overwhelmed by the number of people who decided to leave their course fees with us to be transferred onto new courses. However, we totally understand that some of you would now like refunds as we cannot give an absolute date for course starts. If this is the case, please contact Lin Gisborne by email or phone. Lin Gisborne Lin_gisborne@weymouth.ac.uk Phone: Monday – Thursday 01305 764723 You will understand that in the present circumstances some refunds might take longer than would normally have been the case.  If, however, there is any problem, please do not hesitate to give Lin a call. For those who have paid in cash at the centre, Lin Gisborne will ring you for bank details so we can refund you by BACS. Once again, thank you for your support throughout.  We wish you all the very best, keep well, and we hope to see you again very soon. Our updates will be on our website on the NEWS tab, and our Facebook page. https://www.dorsetcentreforthecreativearts.co.uk/category/news/ Any queries, please email me direct Sarah_drew@dorsetcentreforthecreativearts.co.uk
