Ofsted Report
Ofsted rates Weymouth and Kingston Maurward College ‘Good’ in all areas and strong on skills
June 2025
We’re delighted to announce that Weymouth and Kingston Maurward College has been rated ‘Good’ across all areas by Ofsted following our recent merger – a fantastic result that reflects the hard work of our staff, students and wider College community.
Even better, Ofsted highlighted that we make a “strong contribution to meeting skills needs” – meaning our courses and training are highly relevant and give our students a real advantage for the future.
What Ofsted said:
- “Learners experience a positive and supportive culture”
- “Staff help learners and apprentices with their well-being and develop their confidence and resilience”
- “Curriculums are ambitious for all learners, including those with SEND”
- “College leaders are actively involved in shaping local and regional skills priorities”
You can find a full copy of the report here.
This means we’re not just delivering high-quality education – we’re making sure it leads somewhere meaningful, whether that’s university, an apprenticeship, or your dream career.
What this means for students and parents:
- A safe, calm, and focused environment for learning
- Teaching that’s relevant, inspiring, and career-driven
- Support for wellbeing, personal development, and academic success
- Strong connections with local employers and universities
- A college committed to helping every student thrive
“We’re so proud Ofsted recognised our commitment to our students and our region. Whether you’re studying A Levels, T Levels, land-based courses, or training for a new career, we’re here to help you succeed.” – Kate Wills, Principal & CEO
