AAT Advanced Certificate in Bookkeeping (Level 3)
The course is for students who have successfully completed the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting or Bookkeeping wish to further develop their knowledge. This qualification is a route to acquiring AAT Qualified Bookkeeper status.
Entry Requirements
Completion of the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting.
Course Content
There are specified units which make up the key roles of the bookkeeping occupation at this level. These units are as follows:
- Advanced Bookkeeping
- Final Accounts Preparation
- Indirect Tax

Materials/Text Book Requirements
Text book purchases are required for this course at an approximate cost of £60. Additional revision books are also available. These books can be purchased through any online bookstore, or direct from the publishers using details that will be provided nearer the time.
Study Requirements
You will need a great deal of commitment, and will be expected undertake additional work as well as that done during college classes (on average 3 to 6 hours per week).
Assessment/Examination Details
You are required to successfully complete a Computer Based Assessment for each unit detailed above.

Students aged 19-23 years who do not have a full Level 3 qualification will be fully funded by the SFA (no fees payable).
An Advanced Learning Loan is available to students aged 19+.
Textbooks will be required at an approximate cost of £60, payable direct to the publisher or your chosen bookstore.
All students will be required to register with the AAT as a Student Member. This incurs an initial subscription fee of approx. £40, plus an annual membership fee of approx. £90, payable directly to the AAT. See www.aat.org.uk for more details.
Refund of fees will only be paid in the event the College cancels the course, or if you notify the College of your intention to withdraw from the course 2 weeks prior to the start date.
