Melanie Miller

Melanie is the Deputy Head of School for Business and teaches on all of our Business courses from L2 through to Degree. She is a dynamic and innovative member of the Team who constantly develops and extends our industry enrichment for our students.

She has a background in the fast paced Retail Industry, having been a Bank Manager and headed up a Customer Service Department. She uses these skills to bring her lessons to life and allow the students to benefit from real business examples.

Widely connected in the Community, Melanie continues to grow a wealth of Business contacts to provide students with one of the most enriched Business courses in Dorset. This allows students to benefit from trips, guest speakers, summer schools and work experience opportunities both online and in industry.

As well as developing her students Melanie is constantly undertaking CPD such as Youth Mental Health and Chartered Management Institute Qualifications and has recently been trained as a Pearson Business Examiner.

Wendy Ellaway

Wendy has been working at Weymouth college for 2 years. Wendy’s background is in Retail Management, where in the last 30 years, she has managed stores for Woolworths and Wilko’s in areas such as the Midlands, all along the South Coast, including London, her final store was in Portsmouth, where she managed an £8 million business.

Wendy moved back to Dorset as she loves the area.  Wendy’s passion has always been developing people to be the best they can be, so teaching was a natural progression.  Wendy teaches Business at Level 2 and Level 3 and she loves her job motivating the students to succeed.  In her spare time Wendy enjoys holistic therapies and travelling.

Rob Whiting

Rob has worked at the college since November 2021. Rob initially started working as a Specialist Support Assistant before moving into lecturing in business. He previously studied BA Sports Development at Plymouth Marjon University and spent 3 years working in customer service with EE. Since the he has also gone on to study MSC Sports Management at Bournemouth University. Rob currently teaches level 3 to level 5 across the business area.

Rob really enjoys making a difference and passing his knowledge onto others and giving them the tools to embed this into their professional roles. In his spare time, he enjoys watching and playing rugby, cycling, sea sports and reading.
