In Short

The course studies factors affecting participation in physical activity and sport, and investigates the factors affecting optimal performance in physical activity and sport. There is also a practical element assessing participation as a player/performer or coach.

 

Entry Requirements

At least 5 GCSEs at Grade 9-5 including English and Maths and Grade 6 in Science.

 

Progression

This course prepares you for employment or you can continue to the Level 4 Foundation degree (FdSc) Sport; Coaching, Health and Fitness in partnership with Plymouth University. Students who completed this course have gained places on courses such as BA (Hons) Football Coaching & Performance, BSc (Hons) Sport (Health & Fitness) and BA (Hons) Exercise & Sport Science at universities such as Exeter, Cardiff and Bath.

 

Fees

If you are aged 16-18 as of 31 August on the year of enrolment – no course fee. • If you are over 19 as of 31 August and enrolling on a full-time programme of study a tuition fee will be applicable in most cases. Bursary funds There are financial support arrangements for 16-18 year olds and hardship funds available for the over 19s.
