Motorcycle Maintenance & Repair City & Guilds Level 2
Our modern facilities and workshops will help you gain the skills needed for work in today’s competitive world and offers a fantastic learning and working environment. These courses meet the requirements of employers and will give you good background skills and underpinning knowledge in all areas of motorcycle, including workshops skills. We offer two levels of course to fit your learning requirements.
Selection is by interview. Level 1 Motor Vehicle Certificate
- Health and safety
- Routine light vehicle maintenance
- Electrical systems
- Engine, chassis and transmission systems
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed by a range of methods including projects, assignments and coursework, and have external written tests for some of the units. You will have a portfolio to keep your assessed work in.
Level 2 will give you the skills that are required within the industry and help you to gain employment or move on to an Apprenticeship or Higher Education. Level 3 will give you skills that are required within the industry and help you to gain employment or complete an Advanced Apprenticeship. Those who complete this course may progress on to the Certificate of Supervisory Studies within the automotive industry.
The College library has an extensive lending and reference book stock, in addition to videos and journals. It is essential that you provide your own overalls and safety shoes without which no practical work can be undertaken.
If you are aged 16-18 as of 31 August on the year of enrolment – no course fee. If you are over 19 as of 31 August and enrolling on a full-time programme of study a tuition fee will be applicable in most cases. Bursary funds – There are financial support arrangements for 16-18 year olds and hardship funds available for the over 19s.
