Abrasive Wheels

Delivered through the Dorset Training Academy, this course covers all legal requirements of the Provision and Use of Work regulations.

This course will provide you with an introduction to working safely with abrasive wheels so that you can easily identify the hazards, understand the risks and know which control measures are needed to prevent injury and ill-health.

The one-day course is a minimum of 6 contact hours, and will be delivered at the Dorset Centre for the Creative Arts site in Poundbury. Free parking is available and refreshments and lunch provided.

The course includes a classroom theory based morning session, with a practical workshop element in the afternoon.

A maximum of 6 students are allowed on all training sessions and there is no exam at the end of the course. Successful completion of course is based on continual assessment throughout the duration of the course and Weymouth College certificates of attendance will be issued, along with an electronic copy of the “Safety in the Use of Abrasive Wheels” guidelines from the HSE.
