Redlands Community Sports Hub gains QEII Status
Fields in Trust, supported by ASDA, is protecting 2012 outdoor recreational spaces in communities across the UK: ‘The Queen Elizabeth II Fields’, to mark the Diamond Jubilee and 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. By protecting 2012 outdoor spaces from development, it ensures local children and future generations have somewhere to relax and play; Redlands Community Sports Hub is now one of those spaces.
Weymouth and Portland Borough Council Mayor, Cllr Margaret Leicester unveiled the QEII Fields in Trust plaque at a special reception in July at Redlands Community Sports Hub.
Regional Manager (South West of England) for Fields in Trust, John Chapman said: “The charity has been protecting and improving playing fields since 1925, we’re very pleased to be able to give the QEII deed of protection to Redlands Community Sports Hub. This plaque is a symbol of the hard work everyone here has put in to make this space, truly inspirational to young people and future generations.”
