School Leaver

Choices… School? Sixth Form? College? Work? It’s a tough decision. We’re not here to tell you what to do but we are here to help you make the right decision – the decision that’s right for you.

We’re different. We offer a fresh start for independent minds. So, whatever your background, wherever you’re planning to go, you’re welcome here and we’ll work with you to help you achieve your goals. If you want to get work-ready and you like the idea of studying in a professional setting with inspiring staff, we could be just what you’re looking for. It’s not all work either – just imagine hanging out with new friends in our Costa, or enjoying one of Andy’s legendary BBQs in sunny College Square.

If this sounds like you, come and see us at one of our Open Days. If you already have a subject in mind, find out more about the courses available and the entry requirements by reading one of our course guides or using our online search and apply feature.

Next Steps

Already been to an Open Evening but still not sure?

1)      Give yourself an option – a lot can happen between now and September. Making an online application to College doesn’t mean you definitely have to accept an offer, if you get one. It’s worth putting in application now so you have a number of options to consider over the summer when you get your exam results. It’s best to apply early before places fill up.

2)      Talk to us about what’s on your mind – We know it’s a big decision so why not come back to another open evening and have a chat to tutors, course staff and current students. Plenty of our students attend more than one evening. Many find that they are able to take more in on a second visit because they are more used to the setting.

3)      See what our students say – don’t just take our word for it, follow us on Facebook, Twitter or YouTube and see for yourself how much fun students have at college and how much they enjoy studying at Weymouth.

Don’t think an Open Evening is for you?

What have you go to lose? Even if you think you know about college and the subject you want to study, it’s a big help to come and see for yourself. You will get to meet students who do the course and lecturers who teach it. There’s no pressure and you can stay for as a little or as long as you like. The more information you have the better the decision you can make, so take control and make up your own mind.
