Weymouth College students have been keeping the fundraising effort going as the people of Haiti enter their second week of chaos caused by the earthquake. The students felt it was important to offer their services to others to make those who have already donated to the Disaster Relief Fund to delve even deeper into their pockets.

A week-long fundraising extravaganza was kicked off by a cake sale which is continuing all week through the baking donations from staff and students. On Monday, we welcomed representatives from the Red Cross who ran workshops explaining how the funds and aid is distributed following disasters like the one in Haiti.  

Haircuts for Haiti has been particularly popular as the hair and beauty students have been booking people in for great value haircuts and offering allergy testing for hair colouring treatments with all proceeds going towards the Disaster Relief Fund. So far the students estimate that they will have raise £500 from this week’s efforts.
