Those studying performing arts, media and English at Weymouth College had the chance to speak to Oscar winner on Friday of last week. Julian is an actor and writer, and is known most notably for his screenplay of Gosford Park which won the Oscar for Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen in 2002.   

Julian, accompanied by his wife Emma, spoke at length to the group of students and, at the end of the session, stayed around to answer students’ individual questions, pose for photographs and sign autographs.   

Julian and Emma are heavily involved in several charitable causes as well as organisations to promote young people’s access to the Arts. Close to home in Dorset, Julian is Vice President of The Weldmar Trust Hospice in Dorchester, Patron of Help the Aged, South West region and President of the Hardy Society.
