Volunteering Spirit Required!

Weymouth College are calling for volunteers to support the Spirit of the Sea Moving Tides Children’s Carnival event that will take place on 16th July 2010.  

The volunteer roles are:  

Group A

  • Costume makers (design skills not required, all materials and supervision will be provided)  

Group B

  • Make- up artists/face painters  (training will be given)  

Group C

  • Marshals to look after small groups of Year 6 children (age 11 years)        
  • Marshalls to guide individuals wearing large costumes or to wear large costumes
  • First Aiders
  • Emergency helpline operator
  • Assistant van driver
  • Putting up/taking down signs, moving tables, providing directions, preparing costumes on the day and collecting them in afterwards  

Group D

  • Computer operators for registration of children taking part    

Volunteers will need to be available as follows:  

Group A: times / venues will be arranged with volunteers to suit their availability  

Group B: training will take place on 5 June 2010 at Weymouth College (time TBC) and for the event itself between 3pm and 6.30pm at Weymouth College  

Group C: for an Event Briefing lasting approximately 1 hour on either 6.30pm on 13 July  or 4pm on 14 July  and for the event itself on 16 July from 2.30pm until approx 8.30pm  

Group D: for training lasting approximately 1 hour which will take place at Weymouth College on Friday 9 July at 12.30 and for the event itself on 16 July from 3.00pm until  approx 6.30pm
