Employabilty at Weymouth College
Education that’s more than a certificate
Students leave Weymouth College with more than just a certificate. We help them become work-ready. The world is changing, ideas of work are evolving and the College is constantly adapting to stay ahead. The development of our new Employability Suite is testament to the College’s commitment to place employability at the heart of the student experience.
It’s proof of an enterprising college that is willing to think differently, embrace new models of learning, and to operate in ways that will provide students with the skills necessary to contribute to the economic growth and productivity of the region.
The Employability Suite helps to prepare students for the entrepreneurial world that awaits and that they will work within. Through their contact with businesses and employers, students will develop good vocational skills alongside the ability to deal with risk, instability and the fluctuating work patterns that are fast becoming an inherent part of working life.
The Employability Suite is based off the Main Reception and is open for all to visit. In the suite you will be able to find out information on:
- apprenticeship vacancies
- casual paid work
- work experience
- Samuel Mico Trust Scholarship
How else do we support employability?
As well as access to the suite, students develop their employability skills through workshops throughout the year. Workshops focus on building CVs and personal statements.
