Construction & Allied Trades Department

Course areas include Brickwork, Stonemasonry, Painting & Decorating, Plumbing, Carpentry & Joinery, Architecture and Surveying.

The Construction area offers a wide range of full and part-time courses ranging from Entry Level Construction to Foundation Degrees, Apprenticeships, experienced worker routes and Onsite Assessment training. 

The area has good employer links and is a Centre of Vocational Excellence in Stonemasonry. The staff have full trade qualifications as well as up-to-date safety knowledge. All staff have a minimum of 5 years industry experience and relevant teaching qualifications. 

Entry level construction allows you to have a taster in three subject areas. Level 1 courses are an introduction to specific trades; Level 2 courses are craft trades; Level 3 are advanced supervisory qualifications; and Level 4 are management qualifications.

The College has modern, light, airy workshops and modern classrooms with interactive white boards to enhance theory learning.
