The area of Business, ICT and General Education offers a wide range of full, part time, distance learning and work based programmes in Business, Computing, Skills for Life and other areas.

We offer full time courses in Business and ICT and you can study at Levels 1, 2 or 3 with progression routes being available throughout the programme area. Learners are able to select the relevant route for them - including ICT, Business, Software Development, Systems Support or Business and IT. We also offer a wide range of A Level provision including Business, ICT / Computing, Electronics, Geography, History, Law, Government and Politics, Religious Studies and Critical Thinking. The majority of students attending these courses are aged 16-18.

We offer a wide variety of part time provision ranging from Entry Level to Level 4. Courses include Computerised Bookkeeping, Accountancy, ICT and computer maintenance courses. We also offer a Level 4 HND in Business and Management on a part time 2-year option. Some of our part-time courses are delivered in town centre locations in Weymouth (Colwell Centre), Poundbury (Enterprise Connection), Beaminster (Yarn Barton) and Lyme Regis (LymeNet).

We are a LearnDirect Centre offering the full breadth of courses available. These include Skills for Life, Home and Office IT and Business and Management courses. These are delivered through the Internet and learners are able to study from home - just visiting one of our centres to take the assessments. By using this method learners are able to achieve qualifications quickly as they can manage their own learning time. We also offer English and Maths GCSE and A Levels through Distance Learning methods.

The programme area has a wide breadth work based qualifications on offer from levels 1 to 5. The NVQs that can be studied include Retail, Customer Service, Business Administration, Team Leading and Management, Housekeeping, Multi-Skilled Hospitality, Prevention of MRSA and Cleaning and Learner Support. Assessment of these qualifications is achieved through workplace visits and we offer assessment through professional discussion for many of our subjects.
