The Tourism and Hospitality department of the College provides learning in a bright and ever-growing environment in which to develop and hone the relevant practical skills and knowledge to follow a career in tourism and hospitality industries. Travel & Tourism
Interested in a career that allows you to travel the world? Dreaming of working abroad? Our Travel and Tourism courses will help you take the first steps towards achieving your goal. This sector continues to grow rapidly and offers many exciting employment opportunities including airlines, cruise ships, travel agents and tour operators.
Our courses are industry relevant and will help you to develop knowledge and skills crucial to pursuing a career in this field.- You will complete work experience within the travel/tourism environment as part of the course
- You will take part in residential visits in the UK and abroad
- Cabin crew training facilities with aircraft seats and equipment

Catering & Hospitality
Do you enjoy being creative and working as part of a team in a fast-moving environment? Catering and hospitality offers strong employment opportunities at local, national and international levels. At the College you will be able to train in industry-standard kitchens with professional chefs and real customers. Our courses are designed to give you access to all areas of the catering and hospitality sectors.

- The College’s Cygnets restaurant is open to the public so you can gain real work experience
- Live feed cameras from the kitchen to plasma TVs in our restaurant.
Cygnets Restaurant
Cygnets restaurant is open to the public where all the services of a commercial restaurant will be on offer under the supervision of our highly experienced chef lecturers and training catering students.

Career Prospects
Catering & Hospitality
Students who complete the Level 1 and 2 courses have gained employment in the catering and hospitality field or have combined craft development to Level 3 with work.
Others have moved onto employment or are apprentices. Some are working for companies across the UK such as Browns Hotel in London, Hix Chop & Oyster House in London, Wentworth Golf Course and The Ivy. Some are working in industry locally in Dorset with companies such as The Hive Beach Café in Burton Bradstock and Weymouth restaurants such as Hamiltons Restaurant, Perry’s Restaurant, Mallams Restaurant, and the Rembrandt Hotel.
Travel & Tourism
The Level 2 course will prepare you for a successful career in the travel and tourism industry. Career opportunities would include employment in the following sectors of the industry: Retail Travel Agency, Tour Operations, Cruise & Ferry Lines, Hotel, Public Sector Tourism, Tourist Offices, Visitor Attractions, Airline and Car Hire.
