Suzanne Scott - Beauty Therapy

Whilst studying Level 2 and 3 Beauty Theatre at Weymouth College, Suzanne decided to setup her own beauty salon - as well as looking after her family. "As a mature student I completed the application forms with apprehension of not really knowing what to expect. I wondered whether I would fit in, if I would be the oldest on the course and if I could cope with going back to education. After the first interview with the Hair and Beauty department my worries were laid to rest, the tutor was very reassuring and helpful.”

Helen started at Level 1 and has just completed Level 3 in Hairdressing despite barriers to learning. “I struggle with exams and reading but the college have been ever so helpful by having different coloured paper to make reading easier and extra time for exams. I have loved my time at Weymouth College and I will be sad to leave.”

The College is very adaptable to individuals and their needs. They have also encouraged me to take part in Hair Competitions such as Wella 'Excel' which has given me good experience and confidence. The team of staff have been very helpful and encouraging towards everyone.

The course is very creative and very enjoyable, I particularly enjoy the facials and make-up unit.

It's a really good college, they offer a lot of support, facilities and help.
